I've just completed a spell, and now I have some leftover herbs and candle wax. What is the proper way to dispose of spell remains? Do you return them to the earth, burn them, or something else? I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

1. Candle Wax

  • If the spell was for release, banishment, or letting go:
➤ Wrap the wax in paper and bury it away from your home or throw it in the trash off your property. This symbolizes moving the energy far away.
  • If the spell was for attraction, love, or abundance:
➤ Keep a piece of the wax (if shaped) on your altar or bury it near your front door or a garden to let it “grow.”

  • Natural and biodegradable elements can often be:
    • Returned to the Earth: Bury them with gratitude (ideal for blessings or protection)
    • Thrown into running water: A stream or river carries the energy onward (especially good for release)
    • Burned and the ashes scattered: For finality and transformation (works well for closure rituals)
