Psychic vs. Medium - what's the difference?

I often hear the terms "psychic" and "medium" used interchangeably, but I know they are different. Can someone explain the key differences between being a psychic and being a medium? How do you know which path you are on, or can you be both?

These are my thoughts.

• Psychics read the energy around people, places, and situations. They may tap into your past, present, or potential future by reading your energetic field, aura, or soul path. They often help with life guidance, decision-making, love, career, or spiritual growth.
• Mediums, on the other hand, act as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. They specifically connect with spirits—loved ones who have passed, guides, angels, or higher beings. Mediums don’t just “read” energy—they receive messages from Spirit.

Mediums connect with Spirits and psychics have the gift of strong intuition, so they know things others don't. Sometimes people have both abilities.
